The fault in our vision

or you say, I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing, not realizing that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked. Revelation 3:17 ESV             The people of the church at Laodicea assessed that church entirely contrary to the Lord assessment. The people found nothing to be concerned about, and Lord found nothing but grave concerns. Here is sobering reminder that human perception may easily be fooled.             If it may be so entirely wrong in regards to a church, it may equally misjudge a family, and all else besides; but especially it misjudges itself. The apostle is right that we see in glass darkly, and the prophet is correct that our hearts are deceitful above all things. So, we must take care less we be undone in a moment as the Laodicean church would be v16.             Now the counsel of the Lord in vs18-20 is the prescription for all our blindness and self-deception Proverbs 2:6, Psalm 51:6, Matthew 6:33, 7:7-11, John 8:31-32, 15:5, James 1:5,

Caution on company

Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.” 1 Corinthians 15:33 ESV             There are those who claim to be friends and are not. They claim to have your best interest in mind, but they do not. Indeed, they cannot serve your best interest for they do not know God, or fear Him. They are then fools biblically speaking Proverbs 1:7, and will eventually put you in harm’s way Proverbs 12:6, 26, 13:20, etc.             We need to be careful to ground ourselves in God’s truth via God’s word Psalm 1:1-6. This will be our anchor to keep us from being pulled off course by those who go astray and would have us go with them. We must not go with them past the boundaries of obedience to Christ Proverbs 1:17, Matthew 5:30. Beyond these we put ourselves at risk of harm in every way. It fails to warn your companions of the same danger. It fails to acknowledge God. No good comes from this.             Make no mistake that holding the line of obedience may cost you the friendship, b

Provided for

Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” Genesis 1:26 ESV             The Earth had been made already for man to inhabit and subdue. It had been fixed already in its place, and provided already with everything which was necessary for man. God brings man into existence with all things ready for him. All the intricate systems which make human life possible had been setup. God had made a place for man, and that a place of purpose. For man comes at the end as the capstone of all the creation. He is made to be its steward in service to its Creator. Everything which is required for man to fulfill this purpose is already provided.             Now if God so ordered the first creation, how much more should we expect to find a full provision in the new creation? We are born a
